Danny Dixon:
Danny is the main character, is a deep-dimpled, friendly, overweight boy who loves to play basketball. But because of a tragedy in his life, he avoids playing basketball, and starts binging on junk food, stops playing ball, gains a lot of weight, and feels sad most of the time. His Mom decides that a move to a new neighborhood would help him get back in the game, only when he goes to the new park, he gets bullied. From this point, Danny goes on a magical, empowering journey that completely changes his life.

Faye Dixon
Faye Dixon:
Danny’s Mom, who has English and Italian roots, loves to bake her only child’s favorite homemade desserts. She’s quick-witted, chatty and quick with her deep-dimpled smile. Her main concern is Danny’s unhappiness and how it could hurt his school grades.
Carmen Acosta:
Carmen has been friends with Sonny McSwisher since they were toddlers, is the cute, athletic Latina and star player on her school’s basketball team. She befriends Danny when he gets bullied on the basketball court and even confronts the bully, her friend Swish.

Sonny McSwisher:
Swish is one of the biggest and most athletic players in the neighborhood. He’s captain of his school’s basketball, and is also the kid who bullies Danny. He and Carmen learned how to play basketball together; they have a big brother, little sister relationship.

The Fat Fighting Force (FFF)
The Cardio Kidd, aka CK:
CK, the muscular heart, with a single, curly strand of hair, which is his source of power. He’s not only the leader of the FFF, he’s their heart and soul. CK is also Danny Dixon’s fitness coach and becomes his good friend. This heart’s main purpose is to reach and teach young people to reach their unique healthy weight through exercise, and teach them to make healthier food choices.

T-Mac
Tuffy McBuffy aka T-Mac:
T-Mac is the super-buffed Macintosh apple, who loves to work out with broccoli spears, watermelons or jump rope to keep in tip-top shape. T-Mac, with his stumpy legs, won’t win any sprints, but when you need strong hand he’ll be there to lift you up. T-Mac also sounds somewhat like Rocky Balboa, and even bears a slight resemblance to the Italian Stallion.
Bonita-B:
Bonita-B, the fabulicious, high-energy Latina banana, who loves to tango! Salsa! Merengue! Cha-Cha! She’s one hot banana! And never goes anywhere without her i-Pod and headphones. Bonita also loves to teach kids how to salsa, because it’s both fun and helps keep their bodies in good shape.

Sista Cellie
Sista Cellie:
Sista Cellie is a cool, crisp African-American celery stalk. She’s an inspiring poet, sprinter and loves to chat with friends on her cellie. When she’s not practicing for a Poetry Slam, Sista Cellie is helping kids get motivated to eat healthier and play more, especially run; this is her main job and she loves it!
The Blubba Hill Gang
Mr. Stuffin-Gutt:
the greedy gut whose belly almost drags the ground as he waddles and burps. The sugar-loving ringleader of the Blubba-Hill Gang speaks with a high-and-mighty British tone; his one sinister purpose in life is to create a vast army of chubby, couch-potato kids, or Chunky-Flunkies as he calls them.
Stuff-n-Gutt
Faz-n-Greazy
Faz-n-Greazy:
the smooth-talking crinkle-cut French fry, who glides around by making grease paths from the grease retractors in his wrists, and he always leaves a trail of oily puddles in his wake. He’s also Stuffin-Gutt’s go-to guy for the dirtiest of jobs.
Chubbalicious-Chip:
the brassy, sassy bow-legged chocolate chip cookie, she loves to wear eye-popping red high-heel boots and tawks with a heavy New Yawk accent. When Stuffin-Gutt needs someone to sweet talk a kid into eating sugary foods, Chubbalicious-Chip is his go-to gal.

Sweet Glazio
Sweet Glazio:
the stuttering, love-handled glazed donut that sucks Dum-Dum lollipops, who has the ability to send out fresh donut aromas at different power levels. But even Mr. Stuffin-Gutt was unsure what to make of Sweet Glazio; however, he could always depend on his ditzy sidekick to get kids drooling over his irresistible fresh donut aroma.
